Prologue
CIA Headcounters Anchorage

Jimmy opened the door using the hand-scan.
'You're late, Jimbo,' came a deep voice.
'Screw you, Lee,' Jimmy laughed. 'Damn cold outside.'
'They say it's going to by a cyclone,' Lee said. 'Hope we can quit early.'
'You always hope for that, Lee,' teased Jimmy. He took a better look at the room he had worked in for four years. It was a big room, full of long desks with computers. Most of the computers had two or more screens. Against the wall there was an enormous screen that showed a card game. 'Put it off, we got work to do.'
'This is work, Jimbo,'
'Screw you.' Jimmy sat down by one of the computers and started it. The welcome screen of Windows 7 appeared and he pressed "Control-Alt-Delete". He typed in his number and password. The system loaded, but then gave an error. 'Damn it,' Jimmy mumbled. 'Lee, they already have resetted the system. Could you please look up my new ID?' Lee tapped a few keys and a list appeared on the big screen.
'It's 89519,' Lee said. Jimmy nodded and typed in his password.  His desktop appeared, a big photo of his wife and their daughter.
'Damn it, I've been here for less then five minutes and I already want to go home to my wife.' Jimmy said.
'Act like me,' Lee told. 'Dump her and stay single for the rest of your life. Come on, you've got a CIA-badge. Every single US-woman wants you!'
Jimmy stared at Lee. 'Shut up,' he told him, before he started up his e-mail. The silence remained for half an hour.
A high tone eded the peaceful silence. 'What the hell is that?' Jimmy said. He looked at the screen.
'It's nothing,' Lee said. 'Some guy thats under CIA-surveillance just made a call. The system asks if we want to listen to it. We don't, I guess.' Lee attempted to click it away but Jimmy stopped him.
'We listen it and we save it. We have to listen to or orders, Lee.' Lee nodded and clicked "save". A Windows Media Player-interface jumped up.
'...الأخبار السيئة... الأخبار السيئة'.
A voice said. 'Stupid language, put the volume up,' Jimmy ordered.

A tone sounded. One of the men had cut the other of. 'Put it on a translator.' Jimmy said.
'We're wasting our time, Jimbo. He's probably talking to his butler or something,' Lee protested.
'Just do it.' Lee opened a piece of software and selected the phone call. The computer started to hum.
'It's busy, Jim. It might take a minute.' Right at that time, a window popped up, showing the bad translation.

'...news bad.'
'What is it, sir?'
'My plane is not mailing, sick note. I can be there at time, only at 6AM the next day.'
'B-but... Sir...'
'What the wrong, Abdul?'
'Y-You can't, sir. They're already on their way now the pipeline, and they will engage at 6AM.'
'Damn it, Abdul! I typing better from you! Can toy communicate?'
'No sir, there is a storm going on there.'
'Do they have orders to wait for me?'
'Yes, sir.'
'Then we let them wait. I'll handle with you later.'
'Yes, sir.'

Jimmy's eyes scanned the text. 'Call General Stillwater,' he said.

Chapter One: Spijker- and Bryman
In a plane above the ocean

Outside, a storm was raging. The winds made the plane suffer. The plastic windows sounded like they were about to collapse. It was not a flight that you would like to join, but Nick Spijkerman was there anywhere. He just said there, his back against the hard, plastic walls of the plane, his eyes looking at nothing. In front of him was a tall man, 1.90 Nick estimated. His hair was short black and he looked skinny. Just as Nick, the man was in full uniform. The man spotted Nicks eyes looking at him.
'Salut,' he said. Nick smiled at him.
'I am no French expert, so lets keep it English, okay?' he asked. 'I'm Sergeant Spijkerman. Just say Nick.' The French man smiled too.
'Corporal Carl Bryman, imported straight from Paris.' Nick noticed that the man in front of him said "Paris" in a way only the French could do. There was no doubt that this man was a real Frenchman.
'Do you know our destination?' Nick asked. It made Nick feel uneasy not knowing his destination. Maybe it was because of his ADHD, or maybe it was just a stupic aprt of his person.
'They didn't say,' Carl said. 'They just told me to come to the base at my day off and to take my clothes with me.'
'Do you think these guys are going to cooperate?'
'Don't think so, they didn't said anything when we got on the plane.' Nick heard a couple of footsteps. It was a soldier. Nick jumped up and saluted. The soldier laughed.
'Who do you think I am? I'm just a private, sergeant. Technically, I have to salute you. I just came to told you guys that we're almost landing, so you have to put on you belts.'
'Where are we?' Nick asked. The soldier leaned against the plastic walls.
'Thanks to our plane, you will be in Valdez in half an hour from now.'
'Valdez? Where the hell is that?' Nick asked.
'Alaska,' Carl helped him. 'The start of the pipeline.'
'I don't know no pipeline,' Nick growled.
'Maybe you'll see it if theres time to go sightseeing. Don't expect it, General Stillwater doesn't order two soldiers to Valdez for nothing,' the corporal explained.
'Who is that General Still...'
'Just sit tight and you'll see,' the soldier said irritated. He saluted and walked back to the place he came from.
Carl pulled the belt and relaxed. 'I'm damn sleepy. In GMT+1, it's eight 'o clock now. Hope there is a good hotel in Valdez.' Nick nodded. Only a second after that, Nick got a weird feeling in his belly.
'We're landing,' he said.
